I’ve seen this posted a few times and there’s always comments explaining how this is actually Biden’s fault.
Don’t get me wrong, I know he wasn’t the best president but if anyone thinks he was as bad or worse than Trump, they’re delusional.
I wish I was disappointed with another 4 years of an ineffective centrist who didn’t do enough to prevent the genocide.
Instead we have to watch as we actively participate in, and facilitate, the acceleration of the extermination.Speaking of delusional: didn’t do enough to prevent genocide? Biden actively participated in genocide throughout.
My understanding is that he was required by law to maintain Israel’s military advantage, and that rescinding that responsibility would’ve required congress to actually do something.
Not that it necessarily removes Biden’s culpability; it might not, and he may have had avenues to pursue. I don’t know. But my understanding is that the US would’ve been in violation of treaties if they had tried, and that’s a whole can of worms.
So “actively participated” may not entirely be fair here.
ineffective centrist who didn’t do enough to prevent the genocide.
You mean a right winger who actively perpetrated a genocide.
the acceleration of the extermination.
What I’m getting is that you were a denialist about the extent of the genocide under Biden, and you’re only now willing to acknowledge it now that Trump is in.
To me, the fact that millions of American libs will stop engaging in genocide denial now is a major silver lining to Trump’s election.
Me, five months ago:
If Harris wins, the Democratic base will continue to sleep. You can do anything when the Dems are in the WH. It was under Trump that protesters shut down airport terminals, but under Biden the base sleeps regarding immigration & asylum. That’s what Glenn Greenwald and I learned from the GWB to Obama transition: the Dems sleep when their team is in office. Greenwald “changed” from hero to villain without changing the least bit; the only difference was who was in office. Unlike the Dem-aligned media, he didn’t go to sleep.
You can war as much as you want. You can run a fucking star chamber. You can stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody.
If Harris is the harm reduction candidate, who for?
I’m seeing a lot of examples of liberals holding up the latest atrocities to go “haha, we told you Trump would be worse! I hope you enjoy Gaza being turned into a parking lot!”, and then it’s just exactly the same thing that was happening under Biden, they just didn’t acknowledge it then.
And the fucking glee with which they celebrate genocide as penance for not voting blue no matter who. The Palestinian people aren’t your fucking plaything.
It would appear that the Palestinian people are the Israelis playthings though lol
The resistance in the West Bank is weak because of the PA. Get rid of it and it should be freed like the Gaza Strip was when the settlers were expelled.
And how has that turned out for Gaza so far? Probably not the example you should be looking to replicate.
The settlements are illegal per international law. Palestinians have the right to resist and expel the settlers regardless of how mighty the US or Israel are. Freedom isn’t free, after all.
Despite all the war crimes and genocide, Israel still lost in the Gaza Strip. They didn’t destroy Hamas and they didn’t expel the Palestinians and resettle in the Gaza Strip. This is exactly the model that should be replicated in the West Bank.
So the current situation in Gaza is the whole place is flattened and pretty much the entire population is displaced, as Israel commits war crimes in response to Hamas’s war crimes, with an actual solution being not even remotely close. And you want to replicate that? Sounds like you are more interested in keeping the perpetual war going than you are in actually making life better for the Palestinian people.
Has Hamas started wearing uniforms while I wasn’t looking? Have they stopped operating out of civilian areas? These things are war crimes for a reason. Hamas has no interest in the welfare of the Palestinian people.
As for the whole “Israel has no right to self defense” argument, it’s a half century too late for that conversation. Israel already exists, and will likely continue to exist for the foreseeable future. Not being able to accept that fact is one of the major reasons why we still have this problem. It’s damn hard to find peace when one side is actively doing what the other side wishes they had the power to do.
Name one war crime Hamas committed (with evidence please). I know people of your kind like to mention beheaded babies and rapes but if that’s the case, why has “israel” denied to permit international investigators? So much to even destroy all the evidence?
Technically taking non-combatants hostage and lobbing unguided rockets at civilian population centers are both violations of the Geneva Convention.
Remember when I said "with evidence please)? These “non-combatants” are IOF reservists or active duty. Which rockets were sent to civilian centers? The ones fired at Gaza?
Oh yeah, non-Israeli foreign nationals who were taken hostage on Oct 7 were definitely in the IDF/IOF/whatever 🙄

Both belligerents can be committing war crimes bruh. 😘
“Yeah the slave masters are wrong but idk if we should celebrate John Brown’s crimes”
Wow yall are fucking ai you all have got just one argument you regurgitate ad fucking nauseam huh.
Could someone tell me how long this executive order lasted?
Unfortunate, but the sanctions were only a symbolic gesture in the first place.
