Love y’all, but on bluesky gen X has been behaving like boomers more and more often. Maybe it has to do with hitting a certain age and becoming “get of my lawn”?

I use 4 feeds:

• Following - full control over who I want to see
• Popular with friends - I use this to find new people since my mutuals are liking these posts
• Booksky - just everything reading related
• GameDev - speaks for itself

What I also like better than Twitter is whenever I reply to someone / quote tweet someone but block them after, other people won’t be able to see the post anymore. I’ve noticed (at least for now) that helps a fair bit against pile-ons and rage baiters. Hope it stays that way.

I’ve been on bluesky for a while (over a year). My (leftist) bubble was complaining about how boring it was for the longest time. Now I keep seeing people complaining about the influx of the “new” people joining. And here I am complaining about the complainers. Oh, to be a human on the internet.

It was a joke because it feels weird/funny to see household items outside, even in w walkable city. Not serious of course.

I don’t want change necessarily, but a few more normies would be appreciated. I do miss things like gossiping and silly brainless celebrity news, but I have a feeling most Lemmy users are only interested in the nerd stuff. I mean, me too. Give me nerd stuff and the brainless unserious gossiping! Lol.

Whenever google isn’t giving me proper results (so almost every time) I add “Lemmy” to the search and it gives me… Reddit links.

You can say disabled, it’s not a bad word! :) there are quite a few bike options for disabled people actually. From 3 wheeled bikes to handbike/ebike hybrids. It’s awesome.

• bulk buying toiletries / cleaning supplies when there’s a good deal somewhere
• use contraption for toothpaste and other toiletries
• skip lunch often
• take care of appliances by fully cleaning them often
• do dishes and laundry at night
• YouTube the hell out of things that break to figure out a way to fix it myself
• use a heated blanket during the day to keep the heater on 16 C°
• cut my own hair with the help of YouTube
