    I wonder if they continue their unhinged support of the US while the US is committing suicide or if they have an actual hint of reason and rather follow China into a more stable future.

      I get the impression that they would love to continue their unhinged support for the US, but Trump is making it exceedingly difficult for them to do.

        We already saw that as soon as Biden was elected. Any bit of skepticism with regards to loyally following the US under Trump went away overnight, when everything went “back to normal” in the White House.

      Maybe this is a “look before you leap” situation. If I was thinking of re-orienting my country’s 80-year-old military and economic alignment, I’d want to feel out the new partner before moving away from the old.
