The UK has “gender recognition certificates” that are only held by about 1% of trans people iirc. They’re notoriously hard to acquire even if you’ve medically transitioned, and aren’t that useful beyond changing your gender on documents like passports I think
I’m pretty sure this ruling totally overrules GRCs or at least doesn’t mention them. Even for those with a cert you’re still affected.
Do they at least give a pass people who successfully changed their gender?
There are some countries who at least let people after the surgery and legal gender change, but did they stoop even lower than that?
