Hey at least the one and only time he went low and broke decorum was so he could pardon his own son. And the other 1200 people a week later when he realized how bad the optics were.

And just to get ahead of those people. I’m not necessarily mad he pardoned his son. I’m mad there only time he broke decorum was for his own personal interests and not the American people’s.

Technically the SCOTUS gave immunity for official acts only.

Official acts being clearly outlined as up to the sole discretion of…

      wait for it…

      The SCOTUS.

They said it was to be determined by a lower court. It was sent back to a lower court and Trump was convicted. But the judge ruled that no penalty should be applied because of the SCOTUS ruling on presidential immmunity and it was up to the DOJ to prosecute. The DOJ is under direct presidential control and by then Trump was in power.

SCOTUS could have prosecuted Trump directly, but as always, they deliberately slow walked it so the case would disappear. Which is exactly what they are going to do with all the current cases.

On one hand, he’s not wrong.

On the other hand, he can fuck off. He had internal polling showing him losing in a landslide and he still hung on for far too long afterwards, sabotaging efforts to build a winning campaign by the eventual nominee. Biden is the man who lost the fucking republic through his vanity and hubris.

I want him out there speaking at events, raising money for the campaign trail. They’re off to a great start, honestly, it’s only April 2025 and they’re consistently making nationwide news.

I voted for Harris, I would have voted for Biden again, and I think anybody who doesn’t see the logic in that is incredibly foolish and just in general a disappointment.

Trump would be out of our lives now and forever if enough people understood what was at stake.

Two things can be true at the same time.

Yes: the people who were so fucking sick of the status quo that they refused to vote do carry a large share of the blame here.

But the DNC is ABSOLUTELY guilty of perpetuating that caustic status quo in the face of clear public desire for change, because they were mostly too interested in the money machine they were a part of.

How was Harris a terrible option?
Or was it because she is a woman, and because of her color?

          USA got what they deserved.

Yes Biden was maybe mediocre, but how does that justify not preventing a flaming fascist sociopath from taking the office? It wasn’t Biden that elected Trump, it was the Americans.

She was offering 50k tax breaks to small business and 20k down payments for first time home buyers, great on paper. But 70% of Americans work paycheck to paycheck, so they can’t utilize that. And her healthcare for all became healthcare for some became expanding the ACA. So no help for the majority of people.

And when asked if she’d change anything, she declined. But then suddenly changed her mind and said she’d add a Republican to the cabinet. Further alienating the 70% of people that work paycheck to paycheck and anyone who understand what Republicans are. Can’t forget parading around with good ol Liz too. Really winning with that one.

When asked the simple question of “Should trans people exist?” Her answer was they should follow the law. Disgusting. Unwilling to acknowledge somes right to exist in hopes of courting centrists. Instead pushing away both sides.

Her and Biden continued the genocide despite loud outcry from progressives. If progressives are such a tiny a faction that they aren’t worth catering to with policy, then you can’t be mad when you didn’t get their vote. And if you think it’s their fault the Dems lost then you should still be mad at the Dems for alienating them.

Honestly I agree with you that the US got what it deserved. But not because of its vote, rather because what we’ve become. Your options are continuing the status quo (ya know that one with 70% of people being pay check to pay check) or fascism. There was no right choice for most people. And I find it funny how privileged libs are to think there was.

Sigh. Gaza genocide? Immigration, including the border wall? Most lethal army in the world? The total lack of commitment to a serious social welfare plan (by election day her promises were all either completely ignored or watered down beyond recognition)? Her disdain for all her voters left of Reagan and especially the massive anti-war faction? Including Republicans in her cabinet? "Nothing comes to mind? I try not to be rude in these interactions, but you should think before you say these things. Harris 2024 was going to accomplish nothing except be an appetizer for Trump 2028, because she had nothing to offer to the people who were hurting and looking for anything resembling help.

but how does that justify not preventing a flaming fascist sociopath from taking the office?

Who do you want to justify their actions to you? It doesn’t matter whether it’s justified for not; it happened, it was always going to happen and whenever someone tried to prevent it people like you would scream “but fascism” not realizing they’re only helping the fascists.

I’m just gonna say it. The only reason Biden won was because Trumps response to covid was so abysmal that people were genuinely spooked. Had covid not happened I think Biden would’ve lost. Part of me also thinks we’d be in a better spot rn had Trump won in 2020 since the right wouldn’t have had four years to consolidate and get more extreme.

He BARELY scraped a victory against the most unpopular incumbent since Ford pardoned Nixon, if not ever. He won the popular vote by a smaller percentage than Hillary did when she lost the EC.

      all Americans… they all

Trump won with less than 30% of the population’s vote. And even now, he only has an ~30% approval rating. It certainly isn’t “all” Americans. It isn’t even “most” Americans.

He won with less than 30% of the populations vote because most Americans decided facism wasn’t that bad so they stayed home. People who didn’t vote for Harris or encouraged others not to vote for Harris looked at what Trump was selling and decided they’d like to buy.

I’ll agree it’s not all. However I’ll say that the people who voted for him and the people who didn’t vote at all are the majority, therefore most.

You can’t just blame the orange ferret and his fans. You must also blame the people who could’ve voted against him but chose not to.

And the fact he was about 37 felonies under his belt? And led to insurrection. And it is his SECOND term. And he has made threats against his own people and the world.

You’re preaching to the choir. You don’t need to try and convince me he’s an asshole. At best, that entire paragraph is just whataboutism.

But most of the country didn’t vote him in?

          Correct.

You had ample time to deal with your dirty laundry.

And it’s clear that the people who were supposed to be in charge of doing that only put up a token effort to do so, to keep the public placated long enough for the next election cycle. There are a lot of Americans who were (and still are) deeply angry at the way the entire investigation was handled. And even more who are frustrated at the fact that the system’s checks and balances only work when congress is willing to actually use them.

You take responsibility and fix your shit. Till then. Yeah, the US IS a giant monolith of hatred, anger and aggression.

In case you weren’t aware, the vast majority of America is only one or two missed paychecks away from homelessness, and enacting real change would require a massive effort (and create a lot of new homeless people) because it’s not Europe where you can just roll up to the capitol building on a weekend trip. Imagine if you were in Naples, and had to travel all the way to Madrid to protest your own government. Now imagine you have zero funds for a plane or train ticket, and need to drive the entire way. It’s a ~20 hour drive, which you’d inevitably need to take over the course of several days.

That’s essentially a full work week for the round trip, and it’s less than many Americans would need to travel to get to DC. And you think they’d get paid time off work approved for that? No, they’d get fired for missing an entire week of work. And that’s assuming they’re even able to return to work afterwards; Hopefully they avoided getting maimed, crippled, and/or arrested by police during the protest.

If anything, the US is a giant monolith of poverty and struggling individuals, with a thin veneer of manufactured exceptionalism keeping it from completely unraveling. The only Americans able to exert international pressure are the billionaires who have been robbing the proletariat blind for decades, and the lawmakers who are in the billionaires’ pockets.

PS: literally the dumbest use of quotes I’ve ever seen lmao

If you have to resort to insulting someone’s grammar on the internet, you’ve already lost the argument.

It will be destroyed just like the rest of the government. Putin’s agent has been given control of our country by MAGAts and their supporters.
