All this AI pressure is coming from somewhere. I think Altman got to all the CEOs and convinced them the day I was the future and they’re all heavily invested stock-wise.
They’re all starving to get more AI and back to the office because their personal fortunes are tied up in those endeavors.
CEOs, known to altruistically want what’s best for children
They’re all experts on education and psychology, too, I’m sure. And they’re not at all motivated solely by greed and avarice.
Perhaps they described them as potential future shareholders instead…
Why the fuck would anyone listen to what a CEO has to say about education? Or, really anything for that matter?
Oh wow, since when do we lump CS and AI together? One is basically studying maths and logic and how computers, networks and databases work. The other one is how to tell a chatbot to quote a Wikipdia article back to you. I think those are fundamentally different things. And what students should learn first is how to do a powerpoint presentation and write a letter. Or type a math formula into an electronic document, or use the spell checker. Because they rarely learn a lot about that in school.
And yes. Investing in education would be a nice thing. Would have an immense effect on economy and society if we did that.
What would an “AI Class” even entail?
Learning how to obey the AI? Learning to recognize AI hallucinations from when the AI is just plain wrong? Learning how to put your classmates’ faces on porn?
That’s at least a quarter to a semester of material.
