If this is the typical Israeli sentiment, then I might have to change my opinion on Israeli people. Since this genocide began, I blamed Netanyahu and the IDF. As more and more horrible things come from the mouths of Israeli citizens about this conflict, I’m starting to feel that the Israeli people…are not good people. This is disgusting behavior, and the apparent fact that there’s no protests over there…no shame, no public outcries. Nothing…that they must be okay with this. They must be okay with the broken bodies of children and babies. That it’s okay as long it’s the children of the “other”. Our company has fully stopped all contracts and refuses to do business with any Israeli company. May they feel the same pain and suffering that they inflict on others.

This is actually pretty typical, yes. As ethnic supremacist settler colonists, they are much like the Boers of South Africa, the racist whites that maintain their position through apartheid and racial violence. They call all Palestinians “terrorist” as an epithet. They call little kids that were shot by the IOF terrorists. To them it is not a desceiption of political violence, it is just a racial reference for the people they oppress and hate.

Re: Netanyahu, the protests against him are about their loss of status, to demand the hostages back, to demand he give them more blood, not to end the genocide. Every time a new campaign from Israel launches, Bibi’s ratings go up. When they bomb a university in Gaza, his ratings go up. When they bomb a hospital in Lebanon, his ratings go up. When they start pogroms in the West Bank, his ratings go up. When they announce a new concentration camp plan for North Gaza, his ratings go up. When that Israeli rapist, caught on video, of Palestinians was identified and jailed, they broke him out of jail and out him on a media tour where he was praised. The charges were dropped in response. Much of the violence against Palestinians is carried out by everyday settlers that arm themselves and shoot Palestinians from their settlements or by entering Palestinian neighborhoods and doing pogroms. Such people are often the shock troops for new land grabs or other forms of occupation.

Israel certainly does not represent Judaism. It is probably the greatest proponent of antisemitism today, in fact.

But Israelis are actually this racist and genocidal, overall. They want even more blood. When they bimb more places approval ratings go up. The protests in the streets are about their loss of status, not ending the genocide. Their media is openly racist against Palestinians. Most Israelis believe media showing Palestinians in a sympathetic light should be censorship. They approve of the settlements and occupation. They approve of the genocide.

This is because they are a settler colonial apaetheid nation. Their entire project is premised on the dusplacement and oppression of indigenous people. It is like South Africa. It is like the US. The settlers must feel entitled to their position and stolen land in order for that project to survive as designed, and as its economic position dictates, and so the society is taught to be racist by those larger forces. Taught to dehumanize. Taught to hate those they must later oppeess.

Opinion polls throughout the current genocide have seen Israeli public opinion around 80% in support of the campaign. I think it’s obvious that not all Israelis and certainly not all Jewish people support genocide, the views expressed in the video are not uncommon and carry no negative social connotations in Israel though. That is the environment required for genocide.

    “We deserve it.”

I’m reading a book on early christianity and it covered judaism at the time. A lot of stuff about how god promised them land was emphasized in the scholarly work from the 80s. It really hit me a different way thinking about how they’re acting in Gaza. It makes a lot of sense. Their silly religious beliefs center largely on how they lost their land and got it back around sixth or seventh century BCE, so of course they think they have every right to do whatever they want to the people they displaced.

End religion. The world would be a much better place.

While Zionism claims to base itself in Judaism it is really more about European antisemitism. Its history begins in the 1800s or so, not over a thousand years ago, among European Jews responding to antisemitism across Europe. Pogroms, apartheid, all kinds of violence. It is more about ethnicity and colonialism than religion.

Did the USA burn through international sympathy as quickly after 9/11?
