The amount of hate Hidalgo received because of her efforts to reduce cars in Paris is absolutely bonkers…

- Built 1,400 km of protected bike lanes and cycling infrastructure.
- Established low-emission zones.
- Converted riverbanks into pedestrian-friendly areas.
- Embraced the “15-minute city” concept to bring amenities closer to residents.
❌ What Paris Left Behind:
- Restricted through traffic in the city center.
- Banned older diesel vehicles.
- Introduced higher parking fees for SUVs.
- Reclaimed 70,000 parking spaces from cars.

Maybe I’m not understanding things properly but, aren’t the latter four points also good to fight against pollution? Or is it just car-brained people complaining that they cannot take their car wherever they want anymore?
