Good luck to them. Beating McDonald’s prices might not be too hard though, since they haven’t had good prices in over a decade. But if they can be cheaper, I’d try them.

If they’re cheaper, I’d consider it. After all, it’s not like McDonald’s sells a lot of actual meat. Not going to give up meat, but fast-food vegetables that actually taste decent would be an interesting change.

I’ve actually had some decent vegan fast food. The PLNT Burger chain in the U.S. is tasty, but it’s more expensive than it should be.

I’m lucky enough to have a few good local places with better prices. My local pub (I wish I could shout it out, but it’d reveal my location too specifically) has a few great Impossible options that don’t cost too much.

If the food is highly processed (like PLNT’s burgers) then it makes sense that it would be more expensive than animal products as the infrastructure to produce it doesn’t exist on nearly the same scale.

This is true. But in my experience most places selling plant based burgers have gone for the “fake meat” option which, frankly, is unbelievably annoying - at least in the UK (where I am).
