A few Reddit apps did this back in the day and it was very convenient. If there were a link to Reddit posted anywhere, selecting it would open the app instead of the webpage.

Oh sorry! iOS.
IDK then. On Android you can do that (though it’s disabled by default if the app developer is not owner of the domain which is obviously not true for lemmy). Perhaps iOS has a similar mechanism somewhere in settings.
If there is, I’ve never seen it.
It’s not automatic, but long press a link, share, open in voyager.
