I wish it was more normal to keep running these old vehicles in active (if museum) service, like they do with steam trains in melbourne. Imagine having it just be completely normal to see steam trains on sundays!

We have one instance of this in sweden that i know of, old trams in gothenburg running a route from the central station to liseberg (theme park), and it’s wonderful. It runs as a completely normal part of the tram network in the summer, just with an old vehicle and on a route that isn’t shown on the maps, so you can just wait at the central station for the old tram to show up whenever you visit the theme park without having to specifically plan around it or booking it!
