“I’m fine with Asians, but Russians are Asians. They have a completely different culture, vision. Our key difference from them is humanity.”

Yeah?
1st) buzzfeed 2nd) the whole article is talking about the concern that the azov battalion could gain polotical/social favor by fighting for ukraine … like it did in 2014.
Yes the above battalion was fully of extremists. . Yes right up until the annexation of crimea they had been on a downward trajectory with regard to recruitment, socio and political power. After the intial conflicts in 2014 there was a a resurgence. The us military refused to work with anyone known to have been associated with the battalion and/or far right extremism- so there was kind of a whitewashing that went on internally.
Your war is literally the thing that is giving azov battalion more clout in Ukraine. Whereas if you’d just left it alone ukraine was on track to cleaning up corruption and extremism.
Which is more than likely exactly why russia invaded- the country was headed towards future stability and closer relations to Europe and the west.

In the depressingly binary Marvel movie worldview of the liberal, the only reason not to uncritically kneel down and start kissing the sonnenrad is if you’re already kissing a framed photo of Vladmir Putin instead. Really goes to show why the US “Defense” Department was so eager to sponsor those flicks.
Technically correct- it didn’t as the azove group. It was a few different groups beforehand that was brought together. I don’t remember the names off hand but my point still stands. Russia invaded ukraine twice and that is what keeps azov as a relevant force.

Nah mate as I said- they were on the track to cleaning up extremism. Already explained how they came together under that name vs them being the same people from other groups beforehand. Then again how they had to kindof clean up their act after crimea. You don’t go from having a problem to suddenly being 100% fixed. It takes time - which russia hasn’t allowed and actively tries to destabilize.
