Hey, feel free to crosspost to some other more indie focused gaming communities if you feel like it:
!tycoon@lemmy.world !adventuregames@lemm.ee !citybuilders@sh.itjust.works
These communities are relatively active although it’s mostly me posting (I occasionally post notable releases to pc gaming and games).
Looks like a solid lo-fi indie horror. Although my backlog for this subgenre is actually very full. Did just finish mouthwashing which was a lot of fun.
This looks cool.
US lacks the capability to control oligarchs. Corruption is too ingrained in American culture.
Not saying it has to be like that or that it can’t change, but this is a reasonable evaluation based on widely accepted facts.
Never encouned an Amiga in the wild.
Parents got our first computer in 1997, by that time it is my understanding that Amiga was basically dead (as were other competing platforms like BeOS or Japan’s PC98).
cost them many billions
More like $46 B spent with just $6 B in returns. With losses estimated to exceed $16 B for 2024.
Zuckerburg gets to jack off to his Mii avatar though…
That’s fair. I agree.
I guess I was vaguely alluding to the fact that patent fraud stuff did start after Palworld got big. But what you’re saying makes a lot sense.
Why do you think it’s a conspiracy theory to assume the patent fraud strategy was only implemented after Palworld got big?
I know the OG statement was a bit more provocative and sensationalist, but I think the high level logic holds.
Genuinely curious.
Worth pointing out that Capitalism Labs is an evolutionary refinement of Capitalism II which was originally released in 2001. The original Capitalism was released in 1995.
I haven’t Capitalism Labs (been meaning to try it out, but it is rather pricey with all the DLCs), but Capitalism II is a very solid business simulation game. Although the UI/UX can be really annoying.
Beyond These Stars is developed by Balancing Monkey Games, who previously released Before We Leave.
Before We Leave was a solid effort, if a bit flawed. I got bored in the early mid-game as the building mechanics and lack of space made the it feel more like a puzzle game.
I think it was included in the intro as well. For some reason I associate it with my Simcity 3000 purchase.
It honestly does sound very unique and compelling. This seems the like kind of game that makes me stick to mostly indie titles.
Yeah, the water mechanics and 3D building completely change the gameplay dynamics. You can build elaborate structures and cityscapes with complex water management networks.
It does take a while to build out a city where you have enough resources for such creative endeavours, but that’s part of the fun.
Even beyond having animals 😀, both Against the Storm and Timberborn are pretty unique and compelling city-builder. I would even go as far as saying they have pushed the genre forward.
This is hilarious! 😆
I’ve seen a lot of of rather niche tycoon/simulator/management game (my favourite is a game called “Beat the Fed”, a central bank simulator), but an HR employee simulator (especially an employee perspective with life sim elements) is rather novel.
Yeah, there are space whales in Before We Leave. Beyond These Stars is based on Before We Leave I believe.
Anyone tried this? I played a lot of Evil Genius back in the day and Stargate setting sounds appealing.
That’s really too bad.
I got a steam game as a present and I get a black screen upon starting a session in the menu. I reported this to the devs (with older reports attached), but I didn’t really get the impression they saw this as a priority.
Option #4 sounds most realistic.
No pressure at all! Based on the games you do share, I think !adventuregames@lemm.ee could be a good fit for a lot of your recommendations.
