Genuinely wonder what I did. I’m such a people pleaser, lol. I’m working on it but I genuinely didn’t feel like I was causing trouble. Though I suspect that part of it is that I’m not neurotypical and mods just don’t like my communication style.

Now working on deleting all my contributions I made to Reddit in the last nearly 8 years. It happens so frequently that I look some info up on a search engine with Reddit being one of the top results. I don’t want to be the reason Reddit shows up in those results.

Love a good info dump and really appreciate the explanation. I think you’d be quite happy checking out Sally Pointer on YouTube. She has a lot of info on working with natural fibers. Don’t think she has anything on hemp specifically but I think a lot of her videos are going to be applicable to hemp too. Things like slightly wetting the fiber before working with it are probably things that are going to be quite useful. But it might just be that hemp doesn’t crochet well. She also has many videos on different ways to make fiber into things that are a lot older than crochet and they seemingly all require less looping and bending. She does do a lot of infodumping too, but if you mind that you can always skip over those parts.

That looks like very interesting yarn to work with. Did you spin it yourself by any chance? Feel like elaborating on why you picked it?

Makes sense. I guess I can start off posting about my hobbies in places that are sort of related, even if it doesn’t quite fit entirely. Thanks for likely saving me some frustration.

And I’m ready for the Reddit breakup. I haven’t even received a warning or anything like that, but found out half of everything I ever did on there was shadow banned. I’m done giving that page my attention. Next step is removing all of my history so that my comments and posts that they deemed “wothy” don’t bring traffic to the site. If I can still be bothered after I’ll see how long it takes me to speed run a ban.

lol, never mind. Turns out half of anything I ever did on Reddit got shadow banned - including the comments about Lemmy. I put up a goodbye post on WvP which is pending approval and will likely never see the light of day. I am done interacting with anything over there.

I keep on responding to every post that complains about Reddit on WvP. I haven’t posted individually just yet and haven’t seen a post either. But I have seen that people were banned in other subreddits for more outright promotion of Lemmy. For now I’m staying under the radar it seems.

There’s just something comforting about re-reading familiar books. Especially when the time when they originally found us was significant.

I have heard some witches that are particularly unhappy with Llewellyn (I think because of the more capitalistic nature of the publishing company). They have so many books that there are bound to be some good ones in there. Would love to hear which ones you enjoy.

Listed to that podcast a while ago. I’ll probably go back and re-listen a few times. It’s a great combination being informative without being overwhelming and witchy without too much woo. Not that I don’t appreciate a bit of woo at times, but this is just really easy for just about anyone to enjoy. Highly recommend.

It’s really the amazing, wholesome community of people that makes it special. And just because it happened to start on Reddit doesn’t mean it’ll necessarily stay there. For now I’m still on both and I’ll keep on suggesting Lemmy to Reddit users until my account gets blocked for it, lol.
