  • Ok, so you claim you think you are autistic. That’s fair, reading posts can be as hard as being in a room with unfamiliar people who have inside jokes or use sarcasm alot.

    So perhaps then you should listen to what everyone here is telling you: boosting and account sharing is a form of cheating, recognised by the platforms he runs those games on. Elon did that, denied he was doing it. And got caught.

    Elon cheated.

    No Elon didn’t cheat by using the Konami code or downloading an aim not or mod or anything like that. He cheated by boosting and account sharing.

    You are getting down votes for two reasons here: you are wrong (he did cheat, it’s how that you seem worried about) and you are defending one of the shittiest people to currently exist on the planet.

    Those are the facts. Hope that helps.


  • Went looking for Reply All. I found that podcast as my “first” podcast, I’d never gotten into any before. Listened from episode one every day for weeks, and suddenly… They were announcing they were ending… I hadn’t realized they had ended…

    Because they hadn’t yet. I somehow timed my listening of the whole show such that I heard the second or third last episode (where they first announced the ending) on the day it was put out… So I had to wait a week each for the last 2 episodes…

    Great variety of content, despite the tagline…





  • I’m with you. I think there may have been some transgression in my family lineage against some powerful witch or something because my mom, myself and sister can’t make rice. Can’t. You can ask anyone I know, I’m a great cook and foodie. I can grill, saute, I dabble in Wok, campfire, sous vide and yes, microwave for certain things.

    I know the instructions. I know the ratios. I have been monitored doing these steps correctly and still the rice fails.

    I can even make f-ing risotto… Wasn’t even thinking about the implications when I did it…

    But my other half must make the rice. Yes we have a rice cooker. I even watch him sometimes to see if I can catch the sublet incantation I am not doing.





  • I have my fork and telehandler licence but I’m closer to management than a driver, I just want to be able to hop on the move one out of the way and not look like an idiot when I ask my guys to do something with it.

    So big emergency, we have to move a couple telehandlers out of where another team had buried them and get them on a truck asap. It’s tucked so tightly in a spot with its boom up and stuff everywhere around it. I’m not very familiar with it but I crab walk it out of its hole, around a bunch of other crap and finally out onto the street. I’m now comfortable and start rolling down the road at speed towards the truck when a guy I. A pickup passes me and just points up with one hand.

    Slam on brakes. Look up

    There’s a line (probably internet/phone) running across the road and my forks are above them. I back up… Lower the mast and forks… And drove it to the tech and got out of there

    Thank you Angel Man. I would have looked a complete fool had I knocked out internet to our own buildings, and it could have been power lines!

    I know you never drive with forks up, they were just up when I got in the vehicle and the 15 minutes of Tetris they had to stay up… Then I basically forgot.

  • You are correct, which is why I didn’t pursue the matter. They can keep my money, they’ve lost a customer.

    They are providing a SERVICE. I was not using the service, I didn’t need it. The mistake might have been mine (assuming it wasn’t a dark pattern or sketchy design) but they had a choice: keep my money and tell me to go fuck myself (which they did) or refund my money at no cost to them. This wasn’t a box of goods that they would have to take back and reinventory.

    I would have purchased the lower tier of service (which I explained to the rep) and continued to use their services, and I would have been telling you about how they were reasonable and I am a happy customer.

    I had already invested significant effort in moving my email over, it was a pain to shift back, but if Proton’s answer to a simple problem is “fuck you, we’ve got ours.”, I’ll pass. I spent a lot of time on their 'pick a paid service" page because I was going to pay for one of their lower tiers, I just hadn’t decided which one.


  • I tried switching to Proton. They took my money somehow (I think I was looking over the paid options and then got distracted and auto filled. Basically I wasn’t paying attention) and then when I noticed on my cc bill I contacted them to say 'hey, I didn’t mean to pay for all these features I don’t need and am not using. Can I please have a refund?" They were like “lol it’s been a month and 2 days so no, enjoy your 17 email addresses and some other crap you aren’t using and don’t need.”.

    Still looking for an alternative to Google but it isn’t going to be Proton.
