I was reading through that, waiting for them to mention marine fuel (which they do). Cleaner fuel is causing less cloud cover, so we’ve been accidentally geoengineering a cooler climate for a while - until we “fixed” it in 2020.
I read/watched something a few years back arguing that we should shoot sea water into the air from cargo ships to restore this beneficial effect.

“Carl said on Thursday” is definitely more idiomatic (to my BrE ears, anyway) than “Carl on Thursday said”.

So they’ve just decided that all devices now support HEVC (H.265) and they’ll just disable transcoding? My media centre is on a Pi 3B and that can’t play h265 smoothly. If I had a Synology I’d be pretty annoyed!

Lemmy is indexed on Google as using the site: operator will show, e.g. “rust site:programming.dev” gives sensible results, but there’s not a way to search across Lemmy. Well, not with Google anyway (Kagi has a Fediverse lens that works fairly well).
It would be good if there was some kind of database and/or bot that holds details on any monitoring service each instance uses. I see that https://lemmy-status.org/ is linked in the side bar, but also there are instances self-hosted status pages or using general purpose status trackers.

I decided on Symfonium as well - especially once I realised the author, Tolriq, was the same on who’d made Yatse, my favourite Kodi remote. Tolriq is an indie developer and always has very fair pricing and excellent support, so I’m happy to pay (once, per app) for a polished experience.
