I’ll agree that competition is not as robust.
However, it will be interesting to see how many “non-techy” people discover how easy it is to find content for free without ads.

Good o’le “Bobwehadababyitsaboy”
I also remember when CarrotTop did the C-A-L-L-A-T-T commercial, so that’s fun/old…
Seconded.
I’ve played most of the games.
New Vegas is best for overall gameplay.
Personally, I like 4 best, but that’s because I played it first and the newer interfaces and voice-acting integration is smoother (it’s a newer game, so this is kind of th point). But, everyone I’ve talked to says New Vegas is the best, and I have to agree.
Absolutely.
It’s good.
If you’ve never played the games, it may take a few episodes to figure out, but my kids (who’ve never played) enjoyed it.
The universe has so many characters, factions, and creatures that I would say not even 1/4 are in the first season, so there is a lot of in universe room to expand and explore story-wise.
Not often I say this about new streaming series, but I highly recommend!
I definitely would argue most people don’t ever work 8 hours a day.
Even when I was scheduled in a factory, I had 10-15min here, 30min there of downtime waiting on the line, going poo, being told to change posts, watching people drop pallets and then everyone scrambling to pick up the spill.
That’s why I’ll always advocate work from home. Get your shit done, and get on with life.
Apostrophes create contractions, hyphens create compounds.
Sorry, but um, actually, that’s a hyphen. An apocalypse is the goddess from Pirates of the Carribean who is in love with Davy Jones.
For my current use, (mostly screen sharing) I think it has to be connected.
Also, I think most smart tvs require regular updates or they “won’t work”.
It’s worth a shot though, I’ll have to look into it.
All I found in a cursory search were commercial displays. But I’ll keep looking.
I’ve got a 30"? VISIO that’s over 13 years old and doing just fine. I’d love to get another something of that quality; planned obsolescence sucks.
Unless you’re trying to achieve 4K on a projector, you definitely don’t need a $12k model.
Similarly, sound is dependent on the user. I’ve used many projectors that had decent speakers. Yes, speakers can be expensive, but not outlandish unless you’re going for an audiophile set, but then you’re going to drop money either way because most TVs don’t have movie theatre level speakers.
I’m just interested in having a big enough picture without paying a fortune or having unskippable ads while I play Horizon: Forbidden West.
An $80 projector works just fine for me.
I’m not trying to build a theatre or anything here.
This is my thought:
Good enough laptops are about $200, and Linux is free.
Then there are fairly good projectors for like $80 or less that have hdmi, av, rgb, etc. with an led bulb.
So, grand total about $300 for a massive screen and zero ads.
So, any recs. on good dumb tvs?
I’m upgrading to a projector soon, but also would love a few screens with actual buttons on the device incase of the inevitable remote loss.
I ended up befriending the few who tried to bully / antagonize me before graduation.
Haven’t talked to them in forever, so probably would go to the nearest hang and catch up on life.
It seems like you’re reaching really hard for it to be an issue.
Book stands hold phones very well.
So do old cassette cases.
I find my hand usually does a good job too, but sometimes I prop it between my knees.
If you really want it to be an issue, I guess it could be, but you’d have to try really hard to be inconvenienced.
So, it can lay flat to charge…
…but it has to be upright to play music…
?
You eat pizza sideways, don’t you?
I LOVE the idea. I’m slowly mutating into a wired earbud audiophile (not sure what they call themselves), and the sound is just so much cleaner; plus there’s nothing to charge.
4 hours of music on these ones!
Mine just plug in.
Is that a headphone jack!?
I like headphone jacks.
Those poor multi-billion dollar…
Nope, I cannot even finish typing that sentence.
Fuck 'em.
