All big 3, Signal Telegram SimpleX, are just go to app store install, and send invite to contacts. SimpleX gets framed as technical and dissuades new users from installing, while it’s just as easy as the other 2.
Good projects require money. And SimpleX is still way better than Signal and Telegram, so imo it’s worth supporting and using
Yes but too often distros, and their communities, rely on the ol’ : just read the docs.
And those docs than point to other docs that point to other docs.
True but if you’re distro offers a good enough user experience then you won’t be spending nearly as much time in docs, as opposed to just enjoying your desktop.
Being for more “technical people” is just a lame excuse for bad UX.
Dystopian mega corp does dystopian mega corp shizzle, what a surprise
SimpleX Chat, no phone number or e-mail registration needed. Truly a privacy pioneer.
No nothing configured by me on the router
I got internet by tethering my phone. After that I went through all the managers, tried installing b43 and after that wl. But both did nothing on the live usb boot. @RedNight left a link that suggests this macbook version wifi doesn’t work with linux. https://github.com/Dunedan/mbp-2016-linux
No luck. I used my phone as tether but none of the managers worked.
Great link mate. I think this explains why none of the suggestions are working.
"The MacBook Pro models with Touch Bar come with a Broadcom Limited BCM43602 802.11ac Wireless LAN SoC (rev 02) which is also supported by brcmfmac, but has several issues rendering it unusable, caused by the available firmware. The issues are caused by failing country detection and are:
-Only 2.4Ghz APs are shown -Connecting to an AP barely works or fails directly"
Sadly the driver manager says no drivers needed
The weird thing is that it picks up 1 or 2 wifi from my neighbours but really weak like 9%. But it doesn’t seem te scan my own.
Not sure why this is downvoted? But yeah if this doesn’t work i will try to some others
Yeah luckily this is on a live USB. I’ll try fedora if nothings works thx for the recomendation
Only c ports on my device, ill get a plug
None of these modules are found. It’s a live boot so idk of these are only present after install?
Sounds like the best way to consume flower. Eliminates the risks of smoking and a free edible batch as a byproduct? Amazing. Too bad vapes still are quite expensive.
Hmmm the Signal users sure like it, will have to take off my tinfoil data hat and give it a try
