And been struggling to hold onto that sense of normalcy at all costs of the world.

Yeah I hear a lot of people asking why it matters if someone has their data cause it must be worthless by now.
I often think the governments wouldn’t be fighting this hard to track people if it was.

So a light rail train is a surface ground public transport system similar to a tram, it moves around on street level and can be quite fast but is usually plastic on the exterior and lighter and slower than a typical train.

So anyways, one time as I am walking down the sidewalk in college my hat blows right off my head, without thinking much of it I sprint off after it hoping to catch it before it ends up in the street.
I manage to catch right before I’m in the actual road, but apparently still right on the tracks for the light rail that had right of way through the intersection.

I am still bent over grabbing my hat as I look over my shoulder to see the train hitting me.
I bounced off the front of that train probably a good 10 feet, skid across the ground for the last bit but immediately jump up slap the hat back on my head and stare at the driver of the light rail just long enough for us both to realize I am still on the tracks. I don’t know what they were ever going to say as I just held my hand down on my hat to stop it blowing away and sprinted as fast as I could away.

I have been hit by nearly every mode of transportation but that one always makes me giggle compared to the trains, buses, cars or boats.

They have an idea of how they want the world to collapse in their mind and want to search for the evidence of exactly that.

Most people have that bias. Searching for evidence that makes them correct. Look at all those mom blogs which the collapse community is often closer too than not.

I’d prefer it if it was just a place to observe things basic to modern society breaking, regressionist acts or actions, and pre-emptive scientific flags of upcoming climate changes but that’s not what most people want out of their self confirmation bias.

This is the the spinoff community where the mods straight up left because they as the near singular uploaders got pushback for some of the content they were sharing was false or problematic and they made such a tantrum they basically got thrown out and told everyone else that we needed to follow them because they were what’s best for community?

Yeah I wouldn’t exactly trust them and I didn’t hold much weight to their posts previously either. A lot of blog opinion posts masquerading as intelligent discussion.

This is also the same group that prior to the migration I saw saying that the earth had a hard 1 billion human cap and would often say that we needed to reduce our population down to that amount naturally or by not protecting people during catastrophe and even worse if you pushed them a little on it they would say 3rd world countries could give up the most people as the most polluting and fastest growing countries they should all take their different colored skin and die to leave more space for the rest of them.

Yeah I would stay clear of that place. Honestly all the “collapse” adjacent communities on Lemmy are pretty conspiracy first and deeply problematic wish fulfilment at best, too desperately searching for the end of their suffering through the suffering of others

Yeah Samsung. So that is something we agree on.

The case is weird I don’t want to buy a bulky one on Scamazon that pops free from the glue being cheap like the second case I tried to buy. So that is where I am at not being able to find them. I got gifted a case from Debrand and it literally wouldn’t let the phone fold enough to trigger the sensor to turn off the interior screen.

Seems pixel is better, but I liked the Microsoft duo for being wider but that died hard.

They just don’t feel like a permanent answer from the cell phone manufacturers.
But I’m glad they found a home with someone that gets the most out of it. Everyone has got unique needs I feel these are still just hyper specific.

Neat. My signal is worse, my phone collects dust inside the hinge and I have had to replace so many screen protectors as well as deal with the fact that the front screen is narrower and thus makes typing on it worse and creates typos now a lot. And I still can’t get a phone case for the life of me or it.

I prefer the fingerprint sensor not being under the screen for sure but that was solvable without needing it to fold.

I’m glad you are finding a use case but as someone that also remotes into PCs I actually just prefer to pull out a laptop. And I hate how the software often doesn’t work seemlessly between open and close causing apps to restart and lose progress.

That’s just my findings though. Didn’t want previous commentor to feel alone among others praising it when I have found issues as well. We are all basing our feelings on these off emotions anyways. That makes it a gimmick in my eyes.

My folded phone is worse in every way to a regular phone. It is a gimmick.
