  • I agree with you entirely except for this.

“Congress is deciding if {company} will be banned” is something we should have all picked up on as being absurd and unacceptable

People are out their believing Elon’s Nazi salute was an “Accidentally awkward gesture”. If we are talking about stuff likely for people to notice, then the difference between “congress bans company” and “congress bans an action” might as well be invisible and only exist in the 7th dimension lol.

We have been post critical thinking in the US since around the time that facebook did what morning talk radio was doing but better. We decide everything on feels now, reason has ceased to exist.

  • If you make the point simpler it works. “We are banning tiktok because it is a social media platform we have no ability to censor” with this in mind it makes sense to say “its because of isreal-palastine” because that is just a facet of not having control over platform censorship.

If you really believe that when they say they are getting rid of tiktok it is for national security you’re a fucking rube, they have been taking away our freedoms for decades under the guise of national security, they sure as fuck dont consider it any sort of threat that any of the American social media platform would sell your data do a hostile foreign power. They want it gone because A) they cannot control what spreads on it, and B) their rich owners arnt profiting from it.

If you want to argue that any social media platform dying is a good thing, then i can at least sympathize (thought id argue this isnt a step in the direction of getting rid of social media in general), but if you think banning tiktok is about anything more than corruption you’re a rube.

  • on the tailend of a convo in in a discord recently I added a command to the “customize chatgpt” section to allow chatgpt to have a custom “man” like command similar to linux, but that works for all code or commands.

This makes chatgpt give me a Linux command or code snippet formated in a table explaining what each piece of the command does.

when a prompt is givin beginning with the word man followed by code or commands please respond with a table following these rules and nothing else: skip title row, No backticks around command components, No unnecessary rows, column 1 should contain the command component, column 2 should contain a brief command description
