Same here, to a certain extent.
I was referring only to Linux’s lack of bullshittery in comparison to Windows, nothing else.
Find me on Mastodon, if you want.

Far easier to do too. I did one of each last month and there’s no question that the Windows setup experience is terrible in comparison.
I’d happily pay a one-time fee to be able to use my own cloud service like Google Drive, OneDrive, or iCloud.
You can do that without paying. Obsidian vaults are just plaintext files on your disk. Just make a vault in your GDrive/OneDrive/iCloud sync folder and it’ll be synced.
There’s likely a extra hoop or two to jump through if you want mobile access, but it’s not too much extra effort.
Ah I was just referring to my laptop there. I do still use Android, but with LineageOS instead of my device’s stock image.
How am I the product when I bought it outright and installed Linux before ever booting it up?
I guess I didn’t buy my phone or my laptop then?
It could be slightly altered to fit:
possibilities
of a haiku obscured by
a vegan hotdog
Keychron Q6 (ISO, no knob)
Gateron Oil Kings
Some unbranded BoB keycaps (Cherry profile)
I didn’t intend my board to be 100% black plastic but that’s how it turned out, and it’s not bad!
If it was listed as Used on eBay then you’ll likely be able to get your money back because it’s not fully working. If it was listed as Parts or you bought it from a less regulated platform, on your head be it.
As for repair, it depends what’s wrong with it. It sounds like some of the switches might be dead, but if they are then you’ll want to source replacements, but from where? Do you have any soldering equipment/skills?
It might be a fun repair project if you’re into electronics, but if you weren’t… then better luck next time.
Wrong race that would upset my parents
Your parents aren’t going to date your partner, so their opinions on her race mean absolutely nothing. It’s like going to a restaurant with a friend and they tell you you can’t order salmon because they don’t like it. It’s not their food, so what they say doesn’t matter since they’re not eating it.
Feeling that my interest in the other person is not genuine and that I only see her as a sexual object
This felt a little too real to read. I know that feeling, and it’s not nice. I got no advice here, just letting you know you’re not alone in feeling it.
I have this dreadful feeling that I missed out on something important in life
The best part about life is that you get to define what’s important to you. Some people may find meaning in having a family, but it’s not the only objective way of finding meaning/purpose. You could find joy in creating things, exploring the world, even just working. There’s no secret formula or shortcut to finding it, and there’s definitely no hard rules about what it can be. I hope this helps you feel better.
I got my last 3 phones used, all were at a great discount, and all lasted about as long as you’d expect a new phone to.
I’ll continue buying used until new prices become reasonable again, and even then I will still probably buy used because it’s cheaper and helps combat ewaste (if only a little).
For any passing Americans who are thinking “what’s the difference?”, please take 3 minutes to find out.
It’s >!Portal 2!!<
Explanation:
!The powerful being/orchestrator is GLaDOS, the orphan is of course Chell, and the mental illness is Wheatley. I know that last one is a bit of a stretch, but he technically is if you consider that attaching him to GLaDOS to inhibit her “brain” functions is what he was designed for.!<
My guess is >!Half-Life!<.
Explanation:
!The engineer would be Gordon Freeman, the creatures would be the enemies from Xen, the security forces would be the soldiers, and the elderly man in a suit would of course be the G-Man!!<
A powerful being mentally tortures an orphaned girl through isolation and deadly “games” with dangerous machinery. Later, she begins hearing the voice of a mental illness, and through its advice manages to behead the orchestrator.
And that’s just the first half!
I feel like this answer is somewhat warranted because OP seems to have already made up their mind that it’s bad. They referred to it as a “plague” and “filthy” despite not knowing what it even is. This comes across as a lack of interest in the actual answer and more just using this post as a platform to rant about it (despite knowing nothing about it).
It’s not unreasonable to ask everyone here to word their questions politely (or at least neutrally). This is somewhat aggressive, so I think an equally aggressive answer is perfectly suitable.
It’s loading in Boost.
If you’re not seeing it when you go to the URL your ISP or firewall might be blocking it? Could be many things.
