Bingo… Biden was a huge support to Europe.
It is quite saddening that we have to flip the table so drastically because of the new administration.
We do what we must

They voted orange man twice into power. It’s not like they didn’t know what was going to happen.
Insurance is very much needed. If there weren’t that many reckless drivers then insurance would be cheaper.
I wish we had the same thing as in Singapore. Their cars literally cannot go over the speed limit.
But yes, when insurance is basically required to have, then it’s good to start having government participation in it. The government needs to be the majority stakeholder, as it also provides all of the customers.
My whole childhood was spent at the Makro, sad that it’s gone
Yeah the policy is very welcome. Middle class here gets taxed a lot and there’s this divide between the people that get a company car and those who do not.
Having to buy your own car simply does take a lot out of the available budget.
So I think that this policy will also make people care less about the others that do get a company car.
Unlike PR private policy of the company “poetsbureau”. They offer a “star car, for their stars of employees”. To make the cleaners feel like they also have access to a company car. Yeah no, it’s a private lease. Exact same price as on the market. Total bullshit. But with advertisement of the company on it lol
So yeah, this policy of the government will do a great deal to make people like eachother more.
Literally nothing. Still have tomorrow to watch something tho. This might be the first week in more than 5 years that I haven’t watched anything aha
Reason being that I’m used to watching it with my wife and she’s out of the country since last Sunday
Meanwhile you’re pro russian as a European, quite the disgrace
Organised what coup, zelenksyy won with 73% of the votes in 2019.
We have to work longer because our oldies stopped having children. That’s just how it works. if you didn’t spend your money on having a child, then use it for your pension.
Our stoxx 600 has been doing well lately.
Median net wealth of my country Belgium is 250k euros per adult.
i’m educated, have job security, it has never been this easy to do investments at low cost.
2023 and 2024 have been good years, stoxx 600 increased about 20 to 25% in value. The economic downturn was 2022.
In Belgium more and more people are getting jobs. Our employment rate keeps increasing.
In 10 years it has increased from 62 to 67%
We didn’t invade Ukraine, Russia did.
We have quite a lot of money. We can definitely invest in defense, and we will.
Financial advisor would recommend me to buy a world ETF which is 60% in the USA. They’d recommend to forego home bias.
For example don’t invest in the Bel20 as Belgian, low return on investment.
I’m interested in what this part of the internet does for their investments since it’s about buying from Europe.
Ukraine affects me as a fellow European.
I’m not on the right side, I just want my family to live in peace.
Tariffs don’t matter. The energy crisis didn’t matter. COVID restrictions didn’t matter. Those are just economic struggles.
It’s safety that matters most.
Israel has been expanding their territory over the past century, it has been well covered by the media every time there’s stuff happening. I remember Israeli taking the home of a Palestine family and the Palestinians just had to leave. This was a few years prior to the Hamas shooting at a festival.
If governments weren’t handling Ukraine situation, energy crisis, COVID, etc. Then nothing would be happening.
There’s people on the street here in Belgium, mostly young people and people from middle Eastern descent.
Governments are largely those who decide what will be outraged by the majority of people.
There have been protests for east Congo here in Belgium and now Rwanda is cutting ties with my country for siding with Congo. It’s a conflict that started in 2022 but I had no idea. It was just not covered. I still have no idea.
Palestine Israel conflict is well covered. I saw it on the news today, it was an hour long discussion. They showed Oxfam commercial about it, which includes a Belgian young celebrity. She then spoke about it.
The outrage bout Gaza is more present in the younger generation.
Politician of the social democrats at the table said that she hopes that Europe will put sanctions, as it’s part of the trade agreement that it will be abolished when human rights aren’t being respected.
Trump is choosing the side of murderers with money in each conflict.
It’s pretty fun, it does stuff better than Reddit so I’m focusing on that. Personally I’m enjoying that you can scroll through so many parts when searching for a topic
I got permanently banned from Reddit for saying this. 17 hours and it’s still up uh
Edit: whoops 17 upvotes, not 17 hours ☺️
The good thing is that the EU has a lot of different governments. Some will be more open to give out work visas.
Portugal seems to be an easy one to get into.
From a quick search, Portugal offers a job seeker visa of 120 days, which can be extended by another 60 days.
Once you have Schengen D visa, you can go anywhere in the EU.
Most of our immigrants come through family reunification or refugee status.
work visa might be more complicated because you don’t have someone in the country paying for your cost of living (or taxes doing it in case of being a refugee, atleast in theory, there’s plenty of homeless people in Brussels).
i’m probably being overly cautious, good luck researching the subject.
