  • The good thing is that the EU has a lot of different governments. Some will be more open to give out work visas.

Portugal seems to be an easy one to get into.

From a quick search, Portugal offers a job seeker visa of 120 days, which can be extended by another 60 days.

Once you have Schengen D visa, you can go anywhere in the EU.

Most of our immigrants come through family reunification or refugee status.

work visa might be more complicated because you don’t have someone in the country paying for your cost of living (or taxes doing it in case of being a refugee, atleast in theory, there’s plenty of homeless people in Brussels).

i’m probably being overly cautious, good luck researching the subject.

Insurance is very much needed. If there weren’t that many reckless drivers then insurance would be cheaper.

I wish we had the same thing as in Singapore. Their cars literally cannot go over the speed limit.

But yes, when insurance is basically required to have, then it’s good to start having government participation in it. The government needs to be the majority stakeholder, as it also provides all of the customers.

  • Yeah the policy is very welcome. Middle class here gets taxed a lot and there’s this divide between the people that get a company car and those who do not.

Having to buy your own car simply does take a lot out of the available budget.

So I think that this policy will also make people care less about the others that do get a company car.

Unlike PR private policy of the company “poetsbureau”. They offer a “star car, for their stars of employees”. To make the cleaners feel like they also have access to a company car. Yeah no, it’s a private lease. Exact same price as on the market. Total bullshit. But with advertisement of the company on it lol

So yeah, this policy of the government will do a great deal to make people like eachother more.

  • Governments are largely those who decide what will be outraged by the majority of people.

There have been protests for east Congo here in Belgium and now Rwanda is cutting ties with my country for siding with Congo. It’s a conflict that started in 2022 but I had no idea. It was just not covered. I still have no idea.

Palestine Israel conflict is well covered. I saw it on the news today, it was an hour long discussion. They showed Oxfam commercial about it, which includes a Belgian young celebrity. She then spoke about it.

The outrage bout Gaza is more present in the younger generation.

Politician of the social democrats at the table said that she hopes that Europe will put sanctions, as it’s part of the trade agreement that it will be abolished when human rights aren’t being respected.

Trump is choosing the side of murderers with money in each conflict.
