Which one do you have? That is pretty much my exact use case!

This one may be kinda weird, but I regularly scroll wayyy back in the Giant Bombcast feed and will pick a point in time and listen forward. It’s like hanging out with old friends again, it’s always kinda bittersweet. You always have a soft spot for your first parasocial relationship 💜
On Windows: EarTrumpet
Being able to quickly change audio outputs is awesome, I am always bouncing between headset and speakers. Also the pop up volume mixer is better than the built in one. Been using ET for years and years, can pry it from my cold dead hands.
Not great against hard shelled insects in general. It doesn’t phase Junebugs unless you catch them right and they lose some legs but that feels cruel even for stinkbugs.
In elemental school we had to write instructions on how to make a pb&j sandwich. The teacher then acted out your instructions literally, without adding or removing a step. I don’t think there was a single sandwich made that day.
This is a feature, not a bug. If my battery lasted longer I may never actually get off the toilet 😅
Weird, cus it literally happened a few months ago:
https://www.neowin.net/news/crowdstrike-broke-debian-and-rocky-linux-months-ago-but-no-one-noticed/
This was in no way a Windows problem, this was entirely a CrowdStrike problem. Claiming otherwise makes you look like an uninformed moron.
I just tried this, holy shit it works perfectly. This is real bad for my productivity.
To be mildly fair to Spotify Car Thing lasted for at least 3yrs. The worst part was, imo, it was really good. Like sure, my phone does voice commands but they work like 1/5 times. Car Thing worked nearly 100%, responded to anyone in the cars voice (pro/con depending on situation lol), and was a nice display for my preAndroidAuto headunit. Honestly I think the biggest mistake was that it was tied to a car, I used it on my desk for a while as a dedicated music control surface and it worked well. If more time went into making it just a universal Spotify controller it would have been much better as a thing. Have it mounted next to your receiver, or slap a battery in it and put it on a coffee table during a party and that would have been cool AF and requires zero phone interactions.
Omg the McDonald’s Angus burgers were FIRE. I ate wayyyy too many of the Bacon and Cheese ones and occasionally the Mushroom. I even loved they got put in their boxes with the paper burger holders LIKE EVERY BURGER FUCKING SHOULD.
Samsung has even cut most of the horseshit out. My S22 had like a few Samsung apps, they live in a folder and I never see them. But that is similar to all of the Apple apps you couldn’t remove either (don’t know if that’s changed, haven’t had an iPhone since the 4)
Yea, like that would ever in literally any possible incarnation of any possible existence where Apple is a thing happen. Totally.
QNAP at least used to make pretty powerful NASs. I had one with an older Xeon in it that I bought in like 2015 that at the time crushed Plex streaming. Not sure if they still do, I also moved to Unraid and will never look back, it’s exactly what I need and none of what I don’t (literally, raid. Don’t care about IOPs).
Actually ran Unraid on the Xeon QNAP for a year or so before building my own box.
I use pretty much everything Goodfellows (Target house brand). They make really good shampoo/conditioner and their body wash smells spectacular.
I’ll rotate in a DrSquanch or random bougie soap bar my partners find on occasion.
The children yearn for the mines…
Yepp exact same as Unraid, I have 3x 18tbs one of which is Parity, and a couple old 4gbs I need to drop but am too lazy to do so 😅. Can add whatever size but the parity drive has to be at least the same size as the largest drive in the pool.
When adding/removing disks you do have to rebuild parity, but it’s not the end of the world and it handles it automatically. I run parity checks pretty often anyway (every other week) and it takes the same amount of time.
I just like the Unraid UI and Docker implementation tbh. I used to run everything off Portainer/Compose on my QNAP which was great, but these days I am lazy and having an Update All button is 🤌
Hadn’t heard of it, seems like it’s similar to Unraid, but parity has to be manually syncd whereas UnRAID syncs constantly?
I run UnRAID myself as well. I don’t need raw performance, just stupid amounts of storage for my data hoard, and being able to slap in whatever disk has the best $:gb whenever I need to expand has been such a nice change.
I do have a SSD pool to run my containers and separate one for drive caching as well.
It was Lewy Body Dementia. He had periods of lucidity and in one of those decided that he no longer wanted to live as a prisoner in his own body, and a burden to his family because for all intents and purposes his life as a functioning human was over.
Honestly his entire circumstance is a shining example of why we need a death with dignity law.
