South Africa isn’t an emerging economy either. It’s also submerging. Rolling blackouts, failing infrastructure, unemployment north of 30% (officially, unofficially it’s probably closer to 60) and rising. It’s a failed state, it just doesn’t know it yet.

Some of these chief execs may be corporate psychopaths themselves, and they’d be more interested in arse covering and making sure they’re protected than having external powerful strangers poking thru everything they do.
