  • not true, in north america she’s actually the 6th female president, and 10th female leader overall! (maybe many USians don’t know but North America includes everything above South America, including Central America and the Caribbean)

NA countries that have had a female president (excluding countries where the presidency is only a figurehead role):

    • Costa Rica

    • Haiti

    • Honduras (incumbent)

    • Nicaragua

    • Panama

NA countries that have had a female PM (excluding countries where the prime ministry is only a figurehead role):

    • Barbados (incumbent)

    • Canada (only interim so kinda on a technicality)

    • Dominica

    • Jamaica

  • My high school sex ed never taught anything gay or anal. So I knew to wear a condom with my first girlfriend, but until I was a freshman in college (a year ago…) I didn’t realize it’s important to wear one with a guy too. First gay experience, we’d been seeing each other for a month and I thought I was pretty ready, sock on the dorm door and everything, but then bro asked me if I had a condom and I was like “huh?” And obviously I didn’t so he just gave me head instead

For whatever reason I thought condoms only helped in vaginal sex, since that’s the only thing they taught its use for. Didn’t really know how gay and bi men prevent STIs other than monogamy and a few other assumptions. Part of that stupidity was probably just me being optimistic and horny brained about not having to wear anything

  • Yeah I feel like it’s mostly a cultural thing. In the past, women were discouraged (and at a certain point not allowed) from playing chess, so it’s always been a male dominated hobby

In general, women tend to be reluctant to get into male dominated interests and occupations when there isn’t a welcoming, large enough space for them (e.g. depending on gender roles and expectations, some countries have mostly male doctors, some have an equal amount of male/female doctors, and some have mostly female doctors). So there isn’t exactly a large enough pool of women who care enough to really get into chess and make achievements in it. it’s also just, kind of a boring hobby to get into imo
