Good think I didn’t throw out all those discrete transistors, we’re in for a loooot of soldering
Not to mention all the really cool machines that make the chips are made in Europe
TSMC opened a factory in Arizona, so it’s really a big f u to the people of Taiwan while the owners of tsmc are good to go.
I get the bring jobs to the US bit, but the cost will be passed on to consumers and the whole market will shrink. There are existing chip fab facilities in the US, maybe efforts should focus on why they can’t compete instead of reducing demand for electronics inside the US.
I for one think we need a register for each unsigned integer, why is zero so special? :P
Or if we can’t get that, at least every power of 2 and power of 2 minus 1.
Maybe I can submit a proposal for risc-VI 🤣
I don’t encrypt because it’s too much effort to learn about it.
Id rather keep my filesystem unencrypted so that I can easily recover from problems and encrypt important files as needed, but let’s be real I don’t do that either.
*successfull company, incorporating is dead simple.
I would recommend using multiple versions of windows, and maybe running it all in a VM in a web browser on Android,
Only a few days, maybe 12 if I had to guess. Im running with memory overcommit disabled and building a rust project with vscode and Firefox open will hang the kernel eventually. I caved to the kernel’s expectations and set up a swap partition but it still dies.
I should say it’s been on for probably 2 years straight ignoring reboots
I burned the tent of my dent when the tea I was sent did not have a vent.
This is a stupid question, but you are powering the monitor externally, right?
What does dmesg say when you plug it in?
Pocking
Pocked up
I.e. peacocking, making it awesome and flashy and sharing with others
Quick reach a consensus before the yungins start posting rizzed out setups
Lol to the cookie notice on plebbit.com
Sounds interesting
Even if the sysrq key is disabled, most systems automatically invoke the oom killer. If your work is super important, just let your system sit for a day or two the problem may resolve itself.
If you don’t get any logs about why it locked up I recommend enabling kernel message logging to disk.
We do willingly summon daemons to inhabit our magic crystals.
I dare you to install Gentoo
Excellent! Definitely something I would take to a shop as well
Great question I’ve been wondering the same thing. I’ve been using a spreadsheet with some fancy lookup sheets for far too long, which results in only one ‘category’ of expenses ever being tracked.
Virt-manager with qemu-system, although if you use the kvm driver for both performance should be about the same I think.
Don’t forget virtualbox has a lot of configuration options that may improve performance, Ive never had a problem with it but also never need high performance from a VM.
