  • Thanks for the response! The circuit I am putting in should comfortably handle the KM-1027 and I would not go bigger or more powerful than that kiln.

The usage aspect is a concern of mine, which is why I’m thinking of going smaller. I don’t know how long it would take me to fill a kiln. It may be a month or two since I’m a slow producer doing it as a hobby. But I also don’t want to be too limited in size, and the smaller kilns cost almost as much as the larger kilns anyway so I’m wondering if I should just go with the 1027. I could put my kiln on KilnShare in between my own firings but that opens up a different can of worms.

I do have an electrical engineering degree so the electronics portion of it doesn’t scare me that much. I’d probably use existing open source kiln controller projects but I don’t know how good they are. I probably wouldn’t want to program my own from scratch, that’s a little too much investment. lol. I’m mostly wondering if the current solutions out there are any good and whether it’s worth it to go for the older cheaper kilns and that, or just get new. I’m leaning towards new though.

  • Yeah I got permabanned for supporting Luigi. Maybe a bit too enthusiastically but it is what it is. Every account I make now gets auto banned even if I use VPN.

I could probably get around it with a paid VPN and the Brave browser but I don’t really want to blow any money on getting to a shit community anyway. The only things I miss are my interest subs like pottery, landscaping, etc. The ones here are dead.

But enough CEOs are turning out to be asshats and people are fleeing for the fediverse so it may get more active and diverse here.

As it is, I don’t really mesh with the majority of lemmys and “wrongthink” is actively policed here. It will be nice when less terminally online people join and water down the extremists.

They are both security risks. The difference is the SA oligarch has already successfully infiltrated our national security and installed himself in a position of power so we can’t do anything about it anymore.

Honestly the way he did it was pretty perfect. Create technology and weapons and R&D for the country you want to infiltrate, ingratiate yourself to it’s people, government, and military. Then start throwing money into politics to buy yourself a spot on the cabinet.

This is a game any bad state actor with a huge wad of cash can play thanks to Citizen’s United.
