It could be said that way, yes. There is an ambiguity. But usually it is used to indicate specifically that it isn’t the sole factor. I’m not saying he’s being an effective ally, or even that he’s trying to be an ally. I just think you misinterpreted to say his views on transgender people are solely based in rebellion against nature and tradition.

I agree. Last year a very confused man in my community went into a gender studies class in a University and stabbed the professor and two students (all survived). My partner is transgender at another school in town and I am… weirdgender. He was not a radicalized right winger, he was just disturbed and confused, and there is just so much fucking ambient hatred, it affects people who otherwise wouldn’t even give a shit about any of it.
that’s awful, yeah it does like there’s a lot of people are looking for someone to blame for why things are going badly, easy to pick on an out-group.
