    Setting aside that it’s Donald Trump I think it’s messed up that non-violent felons, or any felon really, lose rights just because they’re felons. Why should anyone lose their right to vote or keep a firearm if neither of those things had anything to do with their crimes?

      There’s actually a really good reason to deny prisoners the vote.

      Imagine you’re a political party in control of the government. You can pass laws that target people who would not vote for you, then convict them of those crimes so they can’t vote against you!
