Interesting to see if it will be better than Bangle JS 2, the spiritual successor to Pebble. That’s the one I’ve been using a few years and I still like it a lot.

I specifically disagree with this being the reason for concern:

Maybe I’m just misreading the intent of that part.

I agree with the concern, but for different reason. This sets the standard for future presidencies. Imagine if Trump starts proactively pardoning people who might be political targets in the future. It removes the concern that your current actions might be determined to be in detriment in future considerations. Doesn’t matter anymore, because as long as you do what the current president wants, he/she/they will simply provide you a future pardon to protect you from the consequences of your actions!

While I don’t think Fauci did anything wrong or should be targeted, this is overall a very bad precedent to set.

Easier to trust and more accurate currently, but I don’t doubt that the algorithm to generate the notes will be internal and closed source, allowing them to utilize that trust to manipulate people.

This is inherently political, but I think the overall intention of the article is to highlight one of the larger media pushes against Trump, and one of Biden’s campaign promises, and the hypocrisy therein of his escalation of this.

I’m a hospital worker in Ohio. I’ve had plenty of positive tests. I’ve not admitted anyone for COVID in ~3 years.

Most of my previous “office work” was primarily back end development, and the approach tended to be hands off from my supervisor. So long as work was getting done in a timely fashion, my hours and daily schedule was up to me. I much preferred that approach as opposed to rigid hours and direct management. I suppose different strokes here.

How is this at all negligence on the company? How terrible would it be if company policy mandated 15 minute buddy check in system to prevent this? Are we just searching for someone to blame when there may be nobody to blame?

Seriously doubt it. Elective surgeries were likely cancelled, which could certainly prolong suffering for some, but life saving surgeries can absolutely happen and do without computers.
