I hope you’re right about four years because that’s a return to normalcy that I can barely imagine right now

Woah hadn’t ever thought about selfhosting RSS, thanks
xx_Pelosi420_xx doesn’t settle for incremental upgrades
Yeah I was thinking about this the other day after watching some Twilight Zone or something. It’s interesting that a lot of our fantasy/sci-fi is about how pathetic humanity might be compared to alien beings, especially since in reality we actualy play the role of the highly superior beings.
You might, Sony seems pretty open to PC releases these days
And the crowd cheered and stopped for a Döner on the way home
Germany eased up on naturalizations laws in the last year actually, not sure about other countries in the EU but I’m sure they’re at least making plans. There’s a skilled labor shortage everywhere and they’d love to swipe some Americans.
Definitely wasn’t implying the USSR was treated sweetly, though I was under the impression sanctions toward them were all the result if their post war actions - i.e. not cooperating with the allies’ post war agreements. You may be more familiar with that than I am though.
So your argument is that because some of their members able to go on and succeed, that somehow means the regime and country weren’t subject to harsh punishments after all?
As I said in another thread: the Nazis absolutely paid the price - they were subjected to war crimes trials, had their regime disassembled, and their country carved up and occupied by the allied powers for decades. How is that not a heavy price?
Meanwhile the USSR was subjected to nothing of the sort - it was actually the opposite, they were allowed to keep and drain the resources of all their conquored territories (even those unrelated to the Nazi regime).
Sorry but you really need to do more learning. It is absolutely not apologia, it’s the facts - the Nazis paid the price by being subjected to war crimes trials, having their regime disassembled, and their country carved up and occupied by the allied powers for decades. USSR was subjected to nothing of the sort - it was actually the opposite, they were allowed to keep and drain the resources of all their conquored territories (even those unrelated to the Nazi regime).
Yeah it was terrible is true that they had millions of war dead. But that doesn’t forgive the endless atrocities they committed, no matter the number.
Absolutely this - they’ve been fighting a war for years now and we’ve barely returned fire yet.
Yeah they fought the Nazis - but first they made a deal with the Nazis to divide eastern Europe and went on a campaign of rape and plunder. You should look into the atrocities committed by the USSR during the 20th century - Germany paid a heavy price for their evils. Russia never did.
She’s such a hero. I’m really inspired by her bravery and mindset. She said in a NYT interview:
“I had a feeling that there were people watching what was happening and wondering, Was anyone going to say anything?” she explained quietly in an interview on Tuesday night. “Was anyone going to say anything about the turn the country’s taking?”
That should be the question to anyone in power - were you not going to say something?
They leave it because they know it’s better for them to have it up. They remove it and lose power and Dems actually get stuff done and maybe people actually notice which lawmakers care about them.
Of course, as soon as the GOP is arrogant enough to believe they won’t lose power they’ll take it down first thing. Which is more likely today than it ever has been in my life.
I’m convinced they do this shit on purpose - it riles up the base and it distracts the rest of us. While we’re debating each other about whether this is a nazi solute we’re not talking about the dozens of consequential things they did yesterday.
Just to add, this proves:
Oh damn, just comparing it to ‘oligarchy’ and it’s much bigger.
So as a total non-expert - isn’t that kind of what you’d expect from overclocking the old one? A bit more wattage used for a bit more power?
